Chainlift installation

With its flexibility and multifunctionality, the VDL chainlift system offers the right solution for every transport problem. The loading and unloading of a container can easily be carried out by the driver from the cabin within a few minutes. The combination of a lifting chain with claw makes it possible to connect the container automatically. The driver does not have to leave his cabin. The pick-up point is located at the bottom of the container. Because of this and the fact that the tilting and sliding movements of the chain system are independent, the lifting angle is minimal. This results in a light and compact construction with maximum loading capacity. Another advantage of this is that a container can be picked up from two sides. Contrary to a hook or cable installation, the pickup point at the bottom of the container enables sea storage containers as well as press containers to be picked up with the chain system at both the front and the rear. The chainlift installations have a capacity ranging from 16 to 34 tonnes.

Cable installation

The new generation of cable installations features numerous improved details, such as an entirely newly developed differential drive with integral locking and a sophisticated freewheel function. This makes it possible to pull straight even under difficult conditions. VDL cable installations have a high payload capacity because a low dead weight is achieved by using high-grade steel. The broadened tilting frame, solid scissor construction and reinforced swingarm combine to provide increased stability. A roll height of 230 mm is also achieved as standard. The integral freewheel, low-maintenance hydraulic control and the processing of high quality materials have resulted in a durable and practical installation. VDL cable systems are available with 15 to 30 ton capacity.

Hooklift system

Quick and convenient loading, tipping and unloading, high reliability and efficiency. These are some of the outstanding qualities of the VDL hooklifts. Hookliftsystems are available with a capacity of 5 to 40 tonnes in various versions. Providing the optimum functional solution, product development by VDL Containersytemen of its hooklifts is country and customer specific. The hooklift systems have been designed with unique self-carrying frames and high tipping angles. Thanks to VDL’s continues product development, functional and optimum solutions are provided each time and as a result VDL is in a market leading position.
