Rotobec Grapples
Rotobec is a privately owned business established in Sainte-Justine, Quebec in 1975. The name Rotobec signifies “rotators” of Quebec. The introduction of the rotating hydraulic system was an important innovation in the forestry industry. This technological leap was revolutionary in improving the efficiency of end user operations. Throughout the years, Rotobec has added several products to our line, which are commonly used in scrap recycling, waste handling, railroad maintenance and construction and bulk material handling.

Rotor refurbishment breathes new life into Vecoplan shredder
At the start of a household waste processing line is a Vecoplan shredder, which is used as a bag opener. The rotor of this machine is subjected to heavy impact and wear from abrasive particles on a daily basis. As the rotor is located right at the start of the process, any wear has a direct impact on the rest of the plant. When the rotor needed replacing, an alternative was already on the table, but it involved a long lead time and high costs. Overhauling offered an attractive alternative, but also presented a challenge: after the overhaul, the rotor had to fit exactly back into the existing shredder. Not only did the wear-resistant layer have to be correct, but the dimensions were also crucial. Even a small deviation can affect the cutting performance, the material flow and, ultimately, the plant’s capacity. Furthermore, no original production drawing was available, so we had to base our work on the existing geometry and our experience with similar refurbishments. We carried out a full survey of the rotor, recorded the dimensions and worked step by step to repair the wear, without losing sight of the original geometry. For us, refurbishment means not just applying a new wear layer, but ensuring that a component functions as intended once again. The result: the rotor is once again ready for a new period of operation and once more meets the required dimensions and tolerances. By opting for refurbishment instead of replacement, a significant amount of material has been saved and the need for an expensive new rotor has been avoided, whilst the installation continues to operate reliably.

SciAps Z-70 LASER metal analysis
The Z-70 is a rugged handheld air-burn LIBS designed specifically for material ID testing. This new device brings the same industry leading technologies SciAps customers love into a pure sorting tool. The Z-70 is the easiest to use LIBS in the SciAps portfolio for material ID. The Z-70 uses a 6 mJ/pulse laser which is the most powerful in the LIBS sorting market. Traditional material ID instruments use high repetition 150 μJ/pulse lasers that are too weak to properly clean dirty surfaces. This leads to wrong matches and extra time prepping the sample surface. Any time gained in testing versus XRF is lost in sample preparation and bad data. The Z-70 is designed for testing with real world samples. An integrated air pump make sure your window stays cleaner for longer and accurate data is being obtained. The Z-70 is also the most versatile instrument in the LIBS sorting market. It provides great flexibility in an easy to use format by allowing users to enter in their own grades and make adjustments that meet your testing needs. The Z-70 can be calibrated for single base or multiple bases. Even if a base is not calibrated, the Z-70 can easily distinguish the base material without giving misleading results.

ScreenBee SB13.26 series
The ScreenBee SB13.26 (S/W/T/H) drum screens are efficient and reliable machines for separating different material types. These smallest drum screens from the ScreenBee product range are available in stationary and mobile (wheel chassis / track chassis / container chassis). With a robust design and powerful performance, these drum screens can work effortlessly in the most challenging conditions. As smaller brother of the SB15.44 and SB18.44 drum screens, this is the most compact drum screen with a length of 5800 mm and width of 1780 mm. The total machine weighs 2550 kg. The ScreenBee drum screens are equipped with an advanced screening system that ensures consistent and accurate separation of materials. The SB13.26 are hybrid or fully electric powered. With user-friendly operation and low maintenance, the SB13.16 drum screens are the ideal choice for companies striving for optimal productivity and precision in their recycling processes. INNOVATIVE DESIGN The ScreenBee team develops drum screens with unique solutions to minimize operating and maintenance costs, so you get the most value from your investment. TWIST LOCK MODULARITY By using a Twist Lock system, all undercarriages are interchangeable within the same model. This allows you to change from a tracked to wheeled or even stationary machinery as needed. SYNCHRO FEEDER CONVEYOR The hopper features a ScreenBee Synchro infeed conveyor, which automatically adjusts the speed of the infeed conveyor to the drum for optimum screening quality. VERSATILITY These drum screens are available in electric and diesel-powered models and in mobile (wheeled, tracked, hooklift) and stationary versions, allowing them to be adapted to any working environment.
