      DOPS Recycling Technologies bv: Syngas out of waste

      The so-called Direct Carbon Immobilization (DCI™) technology is a thermo-chemical process that produces syngas and fixed carbon, minerals, and metals out of all kinds of hydrocarbons containing waste. The process is currently being tested on a laboratory scale. In 2025, the installation will be scaled up in a modular way to serve a variety of waste streams, including biomass, paper waste, and all sorts of plastics. A great benefit is that, contrary to Waste Incineration Facilities, the process produces no direct emissions of CO2 and keeps carbon and many minerals and (precious) metals available for retrieval.
