Brigade’s Mobile Digital Recorder (MDR) provides a robust vehicle-based recording solution for commercial fleets and mobile machinery. Connected cameras can continuously capture activity around and inside the vehicle, creating a reliable video record that can support fleet management, incident investigation and driver safety.

Vehicle incidents can be difficult to reconstruct from statements alone. MDR provides objective video footage that helps operators understand what happened before, during and after an event. Depending on the system configuration, multiple cameras can be connected so footage from different positions around the vehicle is recorded simultaneously.

This makes MDR particularly valuable for commercial vehicles operating in challenging environments. Applications range from road transport and passenger vehicles to waste and recycling fleets, construction equipment and specialist vehicles.

Recording can also complement Brigade’s wider vehicle safety systems. Camera feeds used to support the driver can simultaneously provide recorded footage, allowing fleets to gain additional value from their camera infrastructure.

Brigade’s MDR 600 Series includes multi-channel recording options, including the MDR-644 eight-channel recorder. The system can therefore form the centre of a comprehensive camera and recording installation rather than relying on a single forward-facing view.

When combined with compatible Video Telematics solutions, recorded vehicle data and footage can also support remote fleet management. This gives operators greater visibility of incidents and events without relying solely on information collected after a vehicle returns to base.
